 During the operation of the molecular distillation equipment, the pressure difference between its boiling film and the condensation surface is equivalent to the driving force of the steam flow. When it is used, a small pressure will cause the flow of steam, which is convenient for the distillation process.

Molecular distillation equipment is usually equipped with a built-in condenser opposite to the heating surface, and the operating pressure is reduced to 0.001mbar. The equipment has its lower boiling temperature when in use, suitable for its thermal sensitivity and the high boiling point when in use thing.

It can be seen that the basic structure of the molecular distillation equipment includes a cylindrical barrel with a heating jacket, a rotor, and a built-in condenser; meanwhile, a membrane scraper and an anti-splash device are accurately installed on the fixed frame of the rotor, and a built-in condenser located in the center of the evaporator, the rotor rotates between the cylindrical barrel and the condenser.

During the process of distillation, the material is added from the top of the evaporator. When it is used, it will be continuously and evenly distributed on the heating surface through the material liquid distributor on its rotor.

Then, a film scraper will scrape the liquid into a thin, turbulent liquid film and push it downward in a spiral shape. The light molecules that escape from the heating surface pass through a short route and arrive without collision. The liquid is condensed on the built-in condenser, and flows down the condenser tube, and is discharged through the discharge tube located at the bottom of the evaporator. The residual liquid will be collected in the circular channel under the heating zone, and then flow out through the side discharge pipe.

Work condition of molecular distillation
Molecular distillation is a distillation method operated in a high vacuum, when the average free path of vapor molecules is greater than the distance between the evaporation surface and the condensed surface, the liquid mixture can be separated by the difference of evaporation rate of each component in the feed liquid. At a certain temperature, the lower the pressure, the greater the average free ranges of gas molecules. When the pressure in the evaporation space is very low, and the condensation surface is close to the evaporation surface, and the vertical distance between them is less than the average free path of the gas molecules, the vapor molecules vaporized from the evaporation surface can condense directly to the condensation surface without collision with other molecules.

When the liquid mixture flows along with the heating plate and is heated, the light and heavy molecules escape from the liquid surface and enter the gas phase. Because of the different free paths of light and heavy molecules, the molecules of different substances move from the liquid surface at different distances. In this way, the purpose of material separation is achieved. The pressure difference between the boiling film and the condensing surface is the driving force of the stream flow direction.
