QuEChERS Application Prospects

Since its birth, the QuEChERS method has been widely used in pesticide residue analysis due to its unique advantages and characteristics of fast, simple and cheap.
Lehotay et al. established a method, which uses the QuEChERS method to treat samples and analyze 229 kinds of pesticides in fruits and vegetables by liquid phase, gas phase, and mass spectrometry.
Nguyen et al. also verified the QuEChERS method in 2007. They used GC-MS to analyze 109 kinds of pesticides in rice. The recovery of all pesticides ranged from 80% to 115%.
Nguyen TD et al. improved the sample pretreatment method of QuEChERS and used GC-MS-SIM mode to detect 107 kinds of pesticide residues in cabbage, radish, and other vegetables, and obtained satisfactory results.
The QuEChERS method can not only be applied to the analysis and detection of fruits, vegetables, and grains, but also to the analysis of drug residues in the whole blood with a complex matrix.
The application prospect of QuEChERS
The bioaccumulation and non-targeted side effects of food pesticide residues have caused great harm to human health and the whole ecological environment. It is significant to establish a rapid, effective, sensitive and reliable method for detecting pesticide residues in food.
