Consideration In Selecting Sample Vials

Improper application of sample vials, caps and closures may greatly influence lab results, lower lab efficiency, and repeatability, and even affect lab data accuracy, due to following problems: volatilization causing assay loss, sample degradation, solvent, and closure causing interfering peak, low repeatability, mechanical damage to autosampler, etc. Therefore, it is critical to select appropriate vials, caps, and closures.
Adaptability of vials
Different autosamplers such as rotatory tray and syringe need different sample vials; however, 12*32mm vials are applicable to most autosamplers. Please select ideal vials according to operating instructions or consult with manufacturers.
Volume of vials
In the case of the little sample, a vial with a liner pipe inside, or micro vial or recyclable vial is preferable. The volume of 12*32mm vials ranges from 1.5ml to 2.0ml, depending on sample vial capacity. 12*32mm vials from different manufacturers are identical in overall dimensions except for neck length and shoulder width, and some may have a conical profile or liner pipe inside.
Compatibility of samples
It is also necessary to consider the compatibility of assays and solvents. Amber glass vials are suitable for light-sensitive samples, while passivation glass or plastic vials are suitable for samples that are sensitive to or may adhere to glass.
